Always Remember: Photos from the 11 Years of the ‘Tribute in Light’, 2002–2012

Last night, the Tribute in Light once again pierced the sky over the Financial District. The tribute was first presented on March 11, 2002 by The Municipal Art Society of New York in remembrance of the September 11 attacks, and it’s shone annually since. The installation consists of eighty-eight 7,000-watt xenon light bulbs arranged into two 48-foot squares, a luminous reminder of the World Trade Center.
