God’s Canvas: Stunning Aerial Photos of Iceland by Andre Ermolaev

Iceland’s fields of volcanic ash may sound like a wasteland, but from thousands of feet above, they may be the most beautiful thing on Earth. In these aerial photos by Russian photographer Andre Ermolaev, rivers wend their way through the volcanic ash to create divine abstract paintings that are miles across.

Sitting on a hotspot of volcanic activity and flush with glaciers, Iceland will have plenty to show off for centuries to come. We look forward to Ermolaev and other artists sharing it with us.
